ABOUT CHARLOTTE
Founder of Domi Design Interiors
Charlotte’s love for interiors began in the lush Waitākere Ranges of Auckland, where she grew up alongside her Kiwi Mother and Dutch Father - a keen DIY enthusiast. From a young age, she became her Father's right-hand assistant, developing a natural flair for home improvement and design. That early hands-on experience laid the foundation for her practical, grounded approach to interiors.
Having personally renovated three homes from different eras - the 1950s, 1980s, and 2000s - Charlotte brings a deep understanding of how to work with diverse architectural styles and materials. Her design tutor once remarked, “You obviously possess a lot of common sense, which is actually quite uncommon for a designer". That blend of creativity and pragmatism is now a hallmark of her work.
Charlotte has a particular passion for colour and an intuitive ability to mix textures, tones, and materials to create spaces that feel layered, expressive, and lived-in. Her style leans eclectic, but she’s equally adept at crafting calm, neutral palettes - whatever best suits the client’s vision.
At the heart of Charlotte’s design philosophy is a commitment to truly understanding each brief. She believes great interiors should reflect personality, purpose, and a sense of belonging. That’s why she named her business Domi Design - from the Latin word domi, meaning “at home.” Because that’s exactly how she wants you to feel, every day.

domi: at home (latin)
'how design should make you feel'
