In December 2025 we were contacted by our client, whom decided they needed a professional eye to help them pull their renovation (almost rebuild) together.
STEP 1. We had a free design consultation over the phone for the clients to give us a brief of the assistance they felt they needed and for them to get a feel for us and our fit.
STEP 2. We followed up with an email summarising their ideas and requests and the project scope from our understanding, for approval by the client. The scope included:
1. Wall colours for whole house, with potentially a different colour for lounge and potentially a feature wall in master bedroom - and tying these in with the items they had already purchased such as floor tiles, wallpaper design and kitchen design (but needed assistance to finalise the finishes and locations of the benchtop, cabinetry, splashback.).
2. Kitchen & scullery - finalising benchtop, cabinetry, splashback, tapware
3. Carpet - for hallway, lounge, study, bedrooms, WIR, sitting/library room
4. Tiles - confirming floor/wall and feature tiles work together
5. Window Furnishings - style, fabric and colour selections
6. Lighting - select a light fitting for entrance
7. Ensuring all elements throughout the home are cohesive and complement each other as approved and confirmed by the client.
8. Any other design assistance or product and material sourcing required.
STEP 3. The client accepted the project scope, based on our discussion, the design fees and terms and conditions.
STEP 4. First Design Consultation, 8 January 2026 (four weeks later due to the Christmas period) at the property, allowing us to see the space, which then enabled us to pull interior design concepts (colour schemes, materials, finishes) together and collect material samples on behalf of the client.
STEP 5. Following the first design consultation at the property, we created a Pinterest Vision Board for the client to ensure we were on track and that they liked the vision we had for their project.
STEP 6. Second design consultation, 14 January at the property where Domi Design presented material options for the first design cut, for the client's thoughts and approval.
STEP 7. Following the second design consultation, based on our discussions, Domi Design selected samples for window furnishing, flooring, wall colours to present back to the client for feedback.
STEP 8. Third design consultation, 23 January at the property to confirm all design elements. Domi Design then pulled a detailed Materials and Finishes schedule together which included pictures of materials, product details, chosen locations within the home, supplier name etc for the building and painting companies.
STEP 9. Fourth Design consultation, 28 January at the property to reconfirm all design elements as the client had a change of mind with the curtain fabric for the lounge.
The building, painting and tiling is taking place currently.
STEP 10. Once the painting and flooring has been completed, I will return to the property to assist with any necessary finishing touches such as lighting, furniture, decor. Date TBC.
